Submissions

The Estate Planning and Community Property Law Journal is committed to publishing issues consisting of the highest quality legal scholarship. To accomplish this goal, the EPJ welcomes submissions from professors, judges, and legal practitioners on any topic of legal interest. We especially welcome articles of interest to Texas readers.

The EPJ publishes two books each year, including professional articles, essays, and student comments written by Staff Editors of the EPJ.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Submissions are welcome year-round. All submissions should include the materials listed below and be directed to the EPJ via email to the Executive Publication Editor, Ryder Needham at Ryder.C.Needham@ttu.edu or via Scholastica.

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Length. The EPJ considers any article which makes an original contribution to scholarship, regardless of length, and does not set word limits or minimums. Shorter and more practically focused articles may be offered publication as essays, while longer submissions may be offered publication as articles.

Form. Authors should submit manuscripts in edit-ready MS Word format. We strongly recommend that submissions utilize a table of contents with page numbers. There are no other specific formatting requirements.

Footnotes. Citations should be in footnote format with citations conforming to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (22nd ed.) and, when appropriate, The Greenbook: Texas Rules of Style (14th ed.). Footnotes are required for sentences that make factual claims or legal propositions.
